September 2016

Such a weird year in so many ways isn’t it? The rest of the year sees a support tour with Bad Company and I will be accompanied by Sean Genockey. I’ll also be having an official album launch on the 28th October at the Slaughtered Lamb in East London. This will be on the beginning of the Samhain/Halloween weekend, a very special time of year for me. I can’t explain why but it’s like my reminder to me of all the good things, when the nights are drawing in and we think about monsters.

Smog and Saharan sands aside, I had a beautiful gig at The Bedford. Thanks to Tony Moore for organising it, and to Roberto for the sound. Lauren Flynn and Savannah Dumetz were great to watch too. To the lady who bought my EP and went looking for a pen, I have the EP here for you 😉

Andy Sheard took some lovely pics too. I’m really enjoying playing my songs and I think you can see that in his pic here.

Supporting Deborah Bonham on Thursday at the Half Moon in Putney was immense. She references all the classic rock and soul singers and makes her own style.

Performing at the Landmark Arts Centre

Lately I have performed at two very different events… one at the Seven Strong Female Poets at the Landmark Arts Centre, a beautiful ex-church with the most incredible acoustics.

I also supported  the wonderful Deborah Bonham and band at the Pizza Express in Maidstone. Really lovely people, very heartfelt music.

Happy New Year 2014

So far so good. I hope that you are safe and warm and have seen the new year in with style.

This year I will be travelling more and will have these new songs to you as promised, first two gigs I can confirm are:

February 14 2014 Valentine’s night at the Enterprise in Camden, London

February 27 2014 Bard Dangerous at the Landmark Arts centre, Teddington

In December I played at the Carmignano di Brenta with Mike 3rd on guitar, Alessandro Arcuri on bass and Alberto Stocco on drums for the “Dicembre Culturale 2013″  which is pretty much the first time I’ve played my solo music with a band. It was a buzz and I’ll be doing that again no worries! Also on the bill was Benny Greb‘s band Moving Parts and it was great to meet these lovely guys too.

My sincere intention this Autumn…

…is to hide myself away from the rain and the wind and come out again with a beautiful collection of songs that I love, never mind you and if you love them!

Before I do that I’m heading over to Venice to play for the Gervasuti Foundation. It’s a chaotic and crazy venue and Venice is very wet when there’s a squall, sigh, but I’ll make the effort…;)

Up in the olive groves....

Up in the olive groves….

Obviously it will be beautiful and amazing, so if you are visiting the Venice Biennale this Sunday (15th September) evening then I’m doing a strictly ukelele set.

Thank you to everybody who has bought my EP, attended a gig, written a lovely email, liked a post and just been a friend. I do read all of your messages and if I haven’t yet answered then I will soon.

Is it Autumn now?

Ladies and gents,

I’m keeping a low profile at the moment and focusing on songwriting but I love your feedback so keep it coming. I did however play at Berkofest in September- thank you to the organisers for a great day.

Jasmine plays at Berkofest 2012

While you are getting ready to carve your pumpkins, build your zombie faces and generally prepare for hibernation, I will be continuing my songwriting and sourcing new venues to visit. All of your suggestions have been fantastic- keep ’em coming, and I will be venturing further afield next year.

On the 7th November, I’m going to be playing at a new rock venue in London called the Rattlesnake of Angel. There’s a lot of good feeling about this venue and I’m intrigued… so come and join me xx
